Jose Antonio Fernandez Arroyo - June 2017

This exhibition took place at hotel Ladron de Agua from May 29th 2017 until June 30th 2017.

Biography

I am Jose Antonio Fernandez-Arroyo, a merchant navy captain.  For many years I have been sailing and the sea gave me the blue of its waters.  In 2011, I got my degree in Fine Arts and decided to go back to my home town: Linares.  Since then, I’ve been painting the ocean of olive trees that surrounds me.

I have shown my work in different cities such as Jaen, Cordoba, Marbella, Madrid and Blibao.

This new exhibition is the result of the journeys I have been making, during the last year, guided but that inspirational lighthouse called Granada.  Journeys through the mountains, among olive trees and legends of the Alhambra.  Feelings I would love to share with you and these paintings in a magical voyage from Jaen to Granada

Understated Elegance and Comfort

A short walk from Plaza Nueva.

Our Hotel

This 16th century noble house has been skilfully restored into a beautiful hotel with fifteen guestrooms. El Ladron de Agua, meaning "The Water Thief", is taken from the title of a poem by Juan Ramon Jimenez in Olvidos de Granada and is a showcase for local and regional art.

Our Legacy

On his visit to Granada, Juan Ramon Jimenez was taken by Granada's beauty and wrote a poetry collection drawing on his many Grenadine experiences; a collection now housed in the hotel library.

Great service, Great Location

We truly enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The service was outstanding and the location was great. There was a very nice breakfast and evening sherry and tapas was a nice added touch. Great area for walking around and many good restaurants close by.
