Understated Elegance and Comfort

A short walk from Plaza Nueva and the Alhambra.

...Perfect Location - Everything is Within Walking Distance

The hotel is only a few minutes' walk from Plaza Nueva and the Alhambra, but it is in a zone where cars and motor vehicles have highly restricted access, limited to taxis, residents and authorized vehicles. If you are traveling to Granada by car, we would recommend that you use one of the parking garages. We have provided detailed information below.

However, if anything is unclear or you have further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us via e-mail: info@ladrondeagua.com or telephone (+34) 958 21 50 40.  We are always here to assist!

El Ladron de Agua is located along the Carrera del Darro, a narrow cobbled street that follows the River Darro down from the mountain. From the hotel, you will have quick and easy access to everything that Granada and the Albayzin have to offer. As you step through our authentic Moorish wooden door, you can choose from hundreds of nearby bars, restaurants, small boutiques and stores. Taxis can take you to and from the hotel entrance.

Driving Directions

From the highway (A-92/E-902) coming from Motril, take exit 132 Granada Sur/Armilla, Palacio de Congresos or from Seville, take exit 131 Armilla/Granada.

Take the exit onto Av de Fernando de los Ríos, and continue (keeping straight the whole way) up Paseo del Violon (passing Palacio Congresos on your right).

You either park and take a taxi or continue up Paseo del Violon all the way over the bridge called Puente Genil.

This road then turns into Acera del Darro which you continue on straight until you pass El Corte Ingles on your right.

The parking garage Puerta Real is clearly marked and is an excellent option for parking.

A elevator/lift will bring you directly from the parking to the taxi stand at ground level or you can walk to the hotel, which is about 10 minutes away.

Parking

There are many parking garages on your way into the city. They all cost about 23 Euros per day - slightly less the further from the center you go.  As with anywhere, please do not leave any valuables in your car. The hotel does not accept any responsibility for items left in your vehicle at any time.

Two of the larger nearby garages are:

Parking Palacio Congresos - This is the first parking garage you will find upon entering the city.  The entrance to the parking is clearly marked as you drive toward the Palacio Congresos. (Congress Center).  For your convenience, a Taxi stand is just outside the garage exit.

Puerta Real - This is probably the most convenient parking garage for quick access to the hotel, either by taxi or on foot. We would advise that you take a taxi if you have heavy luggage.  There is an elevator/lift which will take you directly from your parking spot to the taxi stand at ground level.

Please consult the map below to find the garage that best meets your needs for your needs.

By Car

Like many of our guests, you may be traveling to Granada by car. We have provided directions and parking descriptions to the best of our ability. We would recommend that you drive to the nearest convenient parking garage and take a taxi to the hotel from there. We have mapped both parking garages and taxi stands on the printable map (Download PDF 2.7mb), but taxis can normally be hailed off the street as well as from a taxi stand. Click here for directions.

By Bus

The main bus terminal is well-connected to many parts of the south and other parts of the country. If you arrive at the bus station in Granada, there are either local buses that link to Plaza Isabel La Catolica or alternatively you can take a taxi to the hotel. For more information on getting to Granada by bus see: www.alsa.es or their portal site for bus information and timetables for Andalucía.

From the bus station, you can take bus 33. The nearest bus stop to the Hotel is "Catedral", which is a 10 minute walk.

By Train

Granada is not on a high speed line, but should you want to travel here by train, the station is fairly centrally located and accessible by bus or taxi into the Albayzin. For more information see: www.renfe.com/

If you want to use public transport to come to the Hotel from the train station, you can walk up Avenida Andaluces to Avenida de la Constitución, where you can take the bus 33 or number 11. The nearest bus stop to the Hotel is "Catedral".

By Air

Granada Airport

There are a number of domestic and international flights that fly into Granada. From the airport, getting a taxi to the city will cost around 28 Euros. There is also an airport bus that will take you to central Granada for only 3 Euros, but will be somewhat slower. The nearest bus stop, which is around 5-10 minutes from the hotel, is Gran Via near the Cathedral.

Malaga Airport

Many people fly into Malaga airport and take a taxi.  Alternatively, the hotel can arrange transport to meet and great you inside the Airport, and take you directly to us.  The Limousine is slightly more expensive than the taxi, but is well worth it. Please contact us in advance to reserve.

There are also 2 direct buses that take you from Malaga Airport (for 10 Euros) to the Granada Bus Station. These leave only twice a day, however, so make sure your timing fits. (current times are 11:30 and 18:30) - please check online for details.

There is also a bus departing every hour from Malaga Bus Terminal, which will drop you off at the Granada Bus Terminal. The cost is slightly less but the journey time is longer.  You will also have to either take a bus, the train or a taxi to the Malaga Bus Terminal to make the connection. Once you get to Granada, you can transfer to the hotel in a taxi or with a local bus. Do make sure you are able to easily carry your own luggage!

Car Hire (Rental) is another option from Malaga, but keep in mind that your car will be of little use to you while in the city of Granada as most sights are visited on foot or via taxi. There are many international car hire/rental companies at the airport. Needless to say, pricing may be more favourable if you are traveling with others.
